Reaper Undone (Deadside Reapers #5)(13)
Author: Debbie Cassidy

We rocked like that as he fucked me with shorter controlled strokes that hit my G-spot, forcing grunts from my throat. I wanted more. I needed more. And then he reached around, found my throbbing clit and began circling it with his thumb. Oh, God. I was gone, I was lost. I was nothing but greed clawing my way to that high as he lengthened the strokes, abandoning control and going for the win.

Yes. Oh, fuck. Oh, fuck.

I came like a shooting star, grinding against him, body clenched painfully tight as it rode the waves ripping through me. He cursed and picked up the pace, fucking me deeper, harder, so the orgasm kept going until I was sobbing and begging him to stop, to let me breathe dammit.

He came with a growl, hands like brands on my hips, and then we collapsed onto the blanket in a tangle of limbs. He pulled out of me and gathered me close.

My heart hammered for long seconds as my body continued to pulse and throb, reveling in the after-effects of epicness.

I turned to face him, cradled against his side, and placed my palm to his chest. His heart beat in time to mine, slowing alongside mine. In tune. The wind howled, and the van shook, but none of that mattered because I was here with Grayson.

I was safe.

I was home.

Grayson woke me with soft kisses and hot caresses. He cupped my breast, flicking my nipple with his thumb before drawing it into his mouth.

“Grayson.” I stretched to give him better access to my willing body.

“Fee…” His hand slid down my abdomen, and my legs parted instinctively to allow his fingers to slide between my folds and into the warm wetness. He fucked me with his fingers slow and leisurely, watching me as I moaned and arched my back. His breath came faster in time to mine, as I moved my hips against his hand. He watched me unravel, and then he kissed me hard as I came, lapping up my cries.

I was dead. Fucked to oblivion. Pulse pounding so hard I was sure the world could hear it. Grayson broke the kiss and then brought his hand up and sucked his fingers dry. Fuck, that was all kinds of hot.

“The storm’s ebbing,” he said. “Dean and the other Loup will be here to dig us out. I’m pretty sure the van is buried under several inches of snow.” His expression sobered. “We need to talk about what happened when we completed the mating.”

The sunshine in my heart dimmed a little. “Hunter…”

“Yes. I have a theory, but I’d prefer it if we waited until we got back to the house. I need to speak to Petra.”

I bristled at the mention of her name.

“What is it?” he asked.

“Hunter told me what Petra did to him.”

Grayson lay on his back and stretched his arm out in invitation. I snuggled up to him, waiting for his version.

“Petra’s bound to our pack by an ancient covenant between her family and mine. She had no choice but to do what my father asked. She confessed the day after we put my father to rest. It had been eating her up inside for years. I reached out to Hunter. I wanted to make amends, to fix things between us, but he wasn’t interested.” He sighed. “I can’t help but wonder what things would have been like if my father hadn’t treated him the way he did. We argued about it all the time.”

“You argued with your father?”

“I hated the way he treated Hunter. I hated the fact that my brother despised me. I was fully prepared for Hunter to beat me in the fight for the alpha spot. He was faster, a better fighter. I honestly thought he’d thrown the match so he’d have a legitimate reason to leave the pack. I didn’t realize.”

And now Hunter was in our special place. The place we’d created through our consensual mating. Was it because my Loup had mated with him first? Could this be a twin thing?

“Petra will have answers,” Grayson said, smoothing tendrils of hair back from my face. “There’s a lot that needs to be sorted out between the Regency and Rising Packs. Eldrick will need to be informed of Larson’s duplicity, and he’ll need to weed out the traitors from his pack, but it can wait till tomorrow. For now, let’s go home, Fee.”

Home.

Yes. “I’d like that.”

Chapter Thirteen

“You’ll call me and let me know what Petra says?” Azazel asked.

“As soon as we get a chance to speak to her. She’s visiting her sister. She’s due back tonight.” I stretched, kicking off the sheets tangled around my legs.

We’d gotten back to the pack house in the early hours of the morning, and after a long hot shower and more delicious sex, Grayson had tucked me into bed and gone off to sort out pack business.

I’d woken up to a note from Grayson informing me that Eldrick had called several times to check on me and that we had a meeting with him tomorrow. Apparently, Hunter was AWOL. He mentioned that Petra would be back later, and we could speak to her about our strange experience then. He ended the note with an invitation to a late lunch at Lumiers for two p.m.

“When will you be back?” Azazel asked softly, tentatively, as if he was afraid I’d be defensive about the question.

“A few days.”

“In time to take over the training of the cadets at the Academy.” His tone was suddenly businesslike.

He was masking his true emotions. A typical Azazel trait. “Yes, but also in time not to miss you too much.”

He let out a sigh. “I fucking hate that you’re not here.”

Ah, this was the Azazel I’d fallen in love with. “I promise I’ll make it up to you.” I dropped my voice. “All night long.”

“Fee…”

I closed my eyes and pictured his face and then imagined stroking his cheek. It was so real I could feel the prick of his stubble against the pads of my fingertips.

“Fee… I felt you.” He sounded stunned.

“You did?”

“You touched my cheek.”

“How?”

My bottom lip tingled as if someone were brushing the pad of their thumb across it. I sucked in a quick breath. “You touched my mouth.”

Azazel gave a surprised chuckle. “This is…new.”

“Not a soulmate thing?”

“Not that I’ve heard of, but every bond is slightly different. Unique. I suppose this is our thing.”

I liked it, and a wicked thought filled my mind. “Just think of all the places I could touch you.”

He beat me to it, expert fingers getting to work on me. I grabbed the pillow beside me and buried my face in it to stifle my groans.

“Feel that?” he asked, his breath coming quicker.

“Hmmm, oh…”

I raised my hips as his tongue replaced his fingers, and then the sensation cut off, leaving me gasping.

“Um, Fee, I have to go. Client is here.”

I bit back a laugh, shaking my head. “I love you.”

“I love you more.”

“I love you too,” Cora said from the bottom of the bed. She wiggled her brows at me. “So how was it, hmmm? Was Grayson’s cock everything you imagined?”

I hid my face in the pillow again.

“Come on, woman, details, I need details.”

“We are not doing this.”

“Urgh, fine. But tell me, are you happy?”

I tugged the pillow off my face and sat up with a grin. “I feel…I feel amazing.”

She smiled and nodded. “Good, babe. That’s so fucking good.”

“I feel like things are finally how they should be with Azazel, Mal, and Grayson. Okay, so we still have the hooded figures to deal with and the Dread thing, but none of that matters so much anymore. I don’t feel like there’s a storm cloud ready to burst over my head at any moment.”

“That’s because you know the Dread and hooded tulpa shit can be sorted. We can sort it as a team.” She hopped up beside me and swung her legs up onto the bed. “I have a contact who’s looking into rogue warlocks in our area. There’s a whole thing when it comes to hierarchy and rules with the witches. That Elijah Blackwood guy will get back to me soon, I hope. If we can pinpoint who’s creating these fuckers, we can catch him and get some fucking answers. That just leaves the Dread, which Uriel is looking into, right?”

Uriel. I sat up straighter. “I called him when Hunter had me, and he didn’t come.”

Cora frowned. “That isn’t like him.”

I gnawed on my bottom lip. With everything that had happened, Uriel had slipped my mind. “I’m going to try again.” I opened my mouth to call out, and Cora slapped her hand over it. “Wha?” My question was muffled against her palm.

She released me with a smirk. “You might want to put some clothes on, miss lacy panties, unless you want to give the Grigori a heart attack.”

Fuck.

She threw me a T-shirt, and I shrugged it on and pulled the covers up to cover my bare legs.

“Uriel!”

Nothing.

“Are you putting intention into it?” Cora asked. I gave her a flat look, and she held up her hands as if to say, fine, shutting up.

“Uriel, I need you.”

Nothing.

Cora looked worried now. “He might be busy, or in a part of the Beyond where he can’t hear you?” She shrugged. “He’s investigating, right? Who knows what that place is like or what reception is like for those kinds of calls.”

She was right, of course. I was being ridiculous. Still. “If I haven’t heard from him in a few days, I’ll pop to the Beyond and check up on him.”

Cora sat on the bed and took my hands. “You will, but today you’ll spend with your mate and your pack.”

Shit. I had to speak with Petra too.

“Now,” Cora said. “Get that smile back in place and get dressed, it’s almost one.”

I had a lunch date to get ready for.

I trekked snow into Lumiers and stomped my boots on the welcome mat to dislodge the worst of it. The storm from the night before may have ebbed, but snow had been falling on and off ever since. It didn’t discourage customers, though. The place was packed with outliers sipping coffee and munching on pastries. I spotted the usual suspects: scarf guy sitting by the fireplace—named as such because he wore the same scarf no matter the weather; silver scales—a petite female with scales across her forehead who could be found by the bookshelves nursing a glass of water; and finally the couple by the window engaged in what I was sure must be a never-ending game of chess.
