Mahina's Storm (Valorian Chronicles #2.5)(6)
Author: Vivi Anna

No man had pushed her this far. No man had ever made her feel like crying while making love to her. Emotions she could no longer contain erupted inside her heart. It split open like a ripe tomato, passionate and messy, but it allowed Ren in.

As if sensing the shift, he relinquished his hold on her legs and covered her body with his. Once he was settled on top of her, she wrapped her arms around him, digging her nails into his back, and held him tight as the first flutters of cl**ax rippled through her.

As surges of pleasure cascaded over her, Ren nuzzled at her neck. Still sliding in and out of her, he wrapped his arms around her head and bit down on the skin between her neck and shoulder, right in the same place he’d been shot earlier. It was a lycan thing to do, a way of marking one’s mate so that all other male lycans would know.

Mahina was so lost in the moment, she didn’t care. To her, at this moment, she was his. Completely. Utterly. She’d deal with the future later. Because right now, all she could feel was pleasure, all she desired was him. She’d never been in a more perfect place than she was right now with Ren buried deep inside her, his lips tasting her skin.

One, two, three more quick thrusts and Ren was moaning in her ear, lost in his release. Squeezing him tight, and closing her eyes, she followed him down, falling, plunging into the pool of pure bliss. In that one minute, all she could do was hold on as explosions of sensory stimuli bombarded her mercilessly.

As her body quieted, Mahina slowly let her arms slide away from Ren and splayed them out onto the car’s hood. She stared up at the sky. The rain had stopped, and the moon peered out between gray rolls of clouds. The storm had ended.

She sighed happily. She felt like molten gold—as if her bones had melted, she was so relaxed. The man certainly knew how to love her. She smiled to herself.

He stirred on top of her, pressing his lips to her neck, up to her cheek and then to brush across her lips. “You look very satisfied.”

“Completely.”

Chuckling, he kissed her again, thoroughly, so she felt it all the way down to her toes, then rolled onto his back and stared up at the sky, their shoulders and fingers touching.

They stayed like that for a bit, silent, soaking up the beauty of the night. Mahina loved the calm after a good rainstorm. Everything had been cleansed. Including her. And she felt refreshed and invigorated. Or it could’ve been all because of Ren.

He cleared his throat. “I want more than just this night, Mahina.”

“I know.”

He turned his head to look at her. “Are you going to be able to handle that?”

Turning her head, she smiled. “Are you?”

“I’m willing even if it kills me.”

Laughing, Mahina rolled off the hood onto her feet, feeling the urgent need to run. Except not from him. She wanted to run with him, side by side through the trees and grass.

“It just might.” She nodded toward the woods. “Let’s go.”

“Running? Again?”

“Yeah. If you want to be my man, you have to learn to keep up.”

He slid down the hood to stand beside her. “I’m ready when you are.”

Crouching, Mahina shifted. It was still a painful process but it felt good, especially when the man she thought she could love in time was shifting at her side going through the same thing.

When she was done, she waited until Ren finished. The beautiful black wolf turned toward her and huffed through his nostrils, blowing on her neck in affection. She returned the gesture and together they ran into the trees to start a new chase.
